This January and February man hap – human happenings – invite you to plan a journey outdoors – a walk or a ride. A journey to a place that inspires you where you could freely imagine something creative taking place, together with a person and or persons of your choice.
You are then invited to share your experience with others at a special online event curated by ManHap on Fri 25th Feb, to co-create a new constellation of ideas and possibilities across Wales as we step forward into 2022.
This event is part of the Outdoor Arts Gathering Wales 2022 programme – creating soul-warming sparks for outdoor arts in Wales at the beginning of Spring.
Your journey starts with a postcard, sent to you by man hap in the post.
Invitation
WE are man hap: human happenings, a supportive space for artists from across Wales to come together to meet, create and share online. Throughout lockdown and beyond we have come together to experiment with ideas and art-forms, through staged interventions and posing collective challenges for one another, as well as building connections and nurturing relationships.
We are inviting you to plan a journey. A walk or a ride to a place that inspires you, where you could imagine something creative happening or being installed.
To start your journey get in touch with us by emailing Ami (amimarsden@hotmail.com). Let us know the location and date of your planned walk and your postal address, and we will send you a man hap postcard in the post for inspiration as you set off. We would also like you, if possible, to take someone with you, or to meet up with others.
Your conversations may be about your experience of the space, the past/future/present, or creative interventions for that space.
On your journey we want you to take photographs, record some of the sounds and capture some of the conversations you have with your companion or companions. If you are alone you can share with us via a video or phone call.
Share your journey
We would like you to select 5 photographs, 2 minutes maximum of sound and a part of your conversation that summarises some of the ideas you’ve discussed.
Then we would like you to send them to us as soon as your journey is complete.

Special online event – Fri 25th Feb pm
We will collate these materials from you and others and prepare for a reflective sharing at a special online event to which you are warmly invited, hosted by man hap on Fri 25th Feb 11am – 1pm, to co-create a new constellation of ideas and possibilities across Wales as we step forward into 2022.
