Read how the great iconic sites of Wales are without doubt an incredible performance stage for innovative and awe inspiring shows here – a report from Clare Williams, Cadw’s creative events programmer of Cauldrons & Furnaces, part of Wales Cultural Olympiad.

Cadw is the Welsh Government’s historic environment service. Cauldrons & Furnaces is one strand of the Welsh Government’s Cultural Olympiad activity which has inspired and captured the imagination of young people to engage them with their heritage.

The celebrations involved a series of events at eight Cadw sites across Wales, telling extraordinary stories at extraordinary locations and engaged almost 20,000 young people sharing their nation’s colourful history from its mythical beginnings to modern times with visitors from all over the world. On route they were able to discover the diversity, skills and talents of the young people and artists who have taken part.

Committed to supporting and developing this work, we are also thrilled to report that Cadw has confirmed their attendance at The Great Outdoors 2012 this October. To find out more  visit our events page.
