Introductory workshop – Exploring Narrative – Site specific Theatre

Monday 19 October – 2 – 3.30pm

In parternship with Frân Wen

Unpack the rich and diverse stories of your locality, and explore the possibilities that site specific theatre offers in drawing together communities, transforming space, and long-term place making.

An introductory workshop with Frân Wen, in collaboration with Articulture, this opportunity is specifically for young people in the initial stages of exploring the role of narrative within site-specific theatre – emerging artists, writers, dramaturgs. We will focus on the stories, events and characters locations can offer us, starting with our own local spaces, as well looking at some of the most epic stories told recently in Wales through site-specific theatre.

To take part – You will need a WIFI connection, Zoom, notebook/journal, pen/cil.

Optional extra – Drop in half an hour before at 1.30pm, or for half an hour after the workshop to say hello, catch up, and ask questions with Franwen and Articulture.

Booking – Email rosie@articulture-wales.co.uk in advance.

We warmly welcome people from all backgrounds, cultures and abilities including Black, Asian and minority ethnic/POC, refugee, D/deaf, disabled, neurodivergent, working class and/or LGBTQI+ to this space. Please ask us if you would like to discuss access requirements you have in advance, so we can ensure we can provide facilities for you to take part.

About Frân Wen

We see, hear, value, challenge and believe in young people.

Established in 1984, we’re a Welsh language theatre company for young people that prides

itself on creating and sharing fearless theatre. We challenge the traditional perception of our collective identity though reaching out, embedding in community, listening to the unheard voices and responding through sharing theatre. And through our participation and engagement work, we put inclusivity at the heart of our practice, utilising the arts to improve the health and wellbeing of our society.

By unleashing creativity we can create a more equal and vibrant world.

This project was made possible through funding from the Arts Council of Wales’s National Lottery Fund.
