Guest artist blog – If you go down in the woods today…

This year Amelia Chewy, an artist based in South Wales was awarded an Articulture bursary to support time developing new work with performance poet Rufus Mufasa, including ideas from their combined Hiphop practice to create a new outdoor performance piece. Here she reports back.

It was a real treat to spend a day in the woods with my good friend and co-conspirator Rufus Mufasa. We’ve begun lots of chats about developing our combined practice, but life always cuts them short.

New £1m+ UK outdoor arts creative hub offers autumn masterclasses

Coinciding with Walk the Plank’s 25th anniversary is the opening of their new £1m+ outdoor arts creative hub – ‘Cobden Works’ in Salford.

This autumn they are offering the opportunity to gain inspiration and skills from internationally renowned makers, designers and participatory artists through a series of masterclasses designed for artists and creatives interested in outdoor arts practice. These are inspired and made possible as part of their work in creating Manchester Day in collaboration with Manchester City Council.

International Street Arts Network UK Conference: Critical Mass – 27-28 Nov, Milton Keynes

The UK’s key outdoor arts biennial event – ISAN hosts its Critical Mass: the National Outdoor Arts Conference this November in Milton Keynes.

Join the Articulture team as they head to this essential meeting point for everyone involved in Outdoor Arts in the UK and Ireland, from artists, companies, technicians and producers to local authorities, agencies, venues and funding bodies.

Bursaries for ‘Fresh Faces’ 

To encourage new people to attend, ISAN are offering 25 subsidised ‘Fresh Faces’ places for first-time attendees.  To apply for a subsidised place, please click through to their application form –  its a simple process, and you’ll need to have someone available to support your application.
