Book now for ‘Exploring Partnerships for Outdoor Arts’, Wye Valley River Festival, 9 May, Monmouth

Booking is now open for the first of three events as part of The Great Outdoors Expedition 2014.

Exploring Partnerships for Outdoor Arts’ will take place at the new Wye Valley River Festival, Fri 9th May, 1 – 7pm at Shire Hall in Monmouth.

Speakers confirmed – Desperate Men (outdoor artists & producers inc ‘Battle for the Winds’ — opening of the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Sailing event); Sarah Sawyer, Wye Valley Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty; Carys Wynne, Arts Council Wales; Catherine Paskell, National Theatre Wales; Ali Williams, NoFit State CircusMr and Mrs ClarkMarc Rees (‘Adain Avion’ – commission for London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, and upcoming ‘Raw Material: Llaregubb Revisited’ for National Theatre Wales and BBC Cymru Wales); and Phillippa Haynes, Wye Valley River Festival. Attendees include Natural Resources Wales and National Trust.

First two commissions announced for the Great Outdoors Expedition 2014

This year Articulture has come together with the Wye Valley River Festival, the National Eisteddfod and Pontio Arts & Innovation Centre to offer three exciting commission opportunities to artists of any genre who want to create a small-scale, innovative and exciting work for outdoor spaces in Wales.

Articulture is now thrilled to announce that the first two commissions are confirmed. For the Wye Valley River Festival there will be a site responsive dance duet by Chloe Loftus Dance, for the National Eisteddfod there will be a walkabout dance theatre duet created by Bridie Doyle-Roberts of Citrus Arts, with input from local performers.
